RE: numbers
RE: numbersYou say there are no direct competitors. Are you sure?
Flowstar has a similar product to the Smart Alek system. A Flow computer that can measure off an orifice plate - which is what I have been told the Smart Alek does. My understanding is that orifice plates are very inaccurate and do not work on CBM wells. Flowstar has also developed a turbine flow meter that is very accurate and reliable and is apparently the only good solution for the low pressures on the CBM's.
I understand Zed.i is in the process of developing a new measurement device - the E-tube but I know very little about it and whether it is actually through the development phase and being sold. My understanding also is that the Smart Alek has some control features at the well for improving productivity that Flowstar does not but I also been told that they are working on it. Flowstar management has commented in a recent news release that they expect to be cash flow positive in the 1st quarter. This is after only having the product in the market for the past year and a half.
Anyway my point is that I have never seen a business where you can say there are no competitors. There are always competitors. That being said this part of sector is going through an exciting phase of technological change and the market is huge! I think anyone with a good product Flowstar and Zed.i are both going to do extremely well.
Also please correct any misunderstanding I may have with Zed.i's products. Good Luck to both companies and lets hope we all make some money.
