RE: T. Boone Pickens Boone knows oil, but doesn't understand the economics of wind power. The National Academy of Sciences report in spring last year on the Hydrogen economy correctly ID'd wind powered hydrogen generation as the lowest cost long term energy solution. Having been deeply involved in the industry for over 30 years, including personal ownership of a first mortgage on a lot of desert land around Palm Springs now holding wind turbines, I a very comfortable in saying that Boone is wrong on nuclear and doesn't understand hydrogen economics. If he is going to be a long term player in oil, he better learn. GE has figured it out. I predict the first key area will be in Northern Alberta for the oil sands projects, which requires billions for hydrogen infrastructure.
