What king of greener crap are you spreading ? There is no proven or direct correlation between global warming and any greenhouse gases produced by man's activities ? No one is sure why the environment is warmer except that it is. Now, we need ALL sources of energy including nukes.

Go to library and read APrils SCientific American. Without global warming produced by mans activities we would already be 5000 years into next ice age and much of canada would be under glaciers. We have been effecting cliamte through agriculture since the end of the last age. The fact that man affects climate singificantly is no longer a matter of debate for anyone that has perused the science. Truth is, that global warming has been a stabilising and good thing for the last 5000 years, Rice and catle farmin have been increasing CO2 and methane levels for much of this time. Acceleration beagn with industrial revolution, next current and next 200 years will see levels there is no historical precidence for, make prediction a little harder. But some are catastroipic, some are reversible with reduction of CO2, some not. After the Oil runs out in a couple of hunder years, it gets even more interesting, in order to to avoid ICe decending quickly we need to continue to increase greenhouse gases. It is a fact man's activities modify climate, it is simply a case of managing this effect to optimise climate for ourt benefit. To avoid the next ice age requires steadily increasing global warming, we just currently seem intent on a couple of centuries of madness where we over do it and to heck with the consequences. You want to bury your head in the sand and pretend none of this is happening go ahead Rio, a lot of people go, a lot of governments want to. But as is becoming clear, even those govenments most in denail, are changing their tack and advocating nuclear energy for this very reason.
I agree, under the current situation, I think Nuclear is the best course of action, and that make me a greenie in your book.

You want to read somethig really interesting, go read about global cooling. Proven and quantified post September 11 after all flights over US grounded. The particulates from polution and planes actually reflects sunlight and heat back out into space, reduces the impact of global warming. Much more than we previously calculated. In the week after sept 11th daily temperature variation in US increased by 1c. That is the difference between day and night. Clouds and pollution work like a blanket. No planes over US, less blanket, temperatures warmed more during day, fel more during night, 1c more than expected.
It means if we clean up pollution in atmosphere, global warming will become more pronounced. Explain to me the green argument there???
