Kinross out of play right now

Kinross out of play right nowEveryone is jumping up and down saying that Kinross should be the next one to get taken over. boy - people sure have short memories..... Remember this little issue outstanding with SEC right now. Here is how I see it: Sure they have issed unaudited annuals for 2003 and 2004 but they remain out of play until ALL outstanding reporting is up to date and accepted by SEC. It will be 2 to 3 weeks before they issue the audited statements for 03 and 04. then those are still subject to SEC review. Once the SEC has accepted them, Kinross can then get dow to business of sorting out 05. Q1 05 must be prepared and submitted. Q2 must be prepared and submitted. Q3 will likely be late - they will need to be prepared and submitted. OK so now we are talking late December at the earliest - likely January. So no - Kinross is not in a position to be taken over or to acquire anyone. If they were, then the CRCE acquisition would be in the news and being complete. In fact - that will be your best barometer. When Kinross starts to announce the something is happening in the CRCE acquisition (seems like this started sometime last CENTURY!) then, and only then, will you know that Kinross is back in play. Until then folks - we missed the boat
