How is it possible?

I do not understand. I'm not the most experienced investor but I really do not understand anything about it. This morning, just before the opening of the markets, there were 1 8XX XXX bid and 5XX XXX Ask. I have chosen to add 70,000 shares to those I already own. Wishing my shares NOW, I placed an order at 0.065 cents. Then, 9:30 am, 70,000 shares added to my wallet was 0.06 cents. How is it possible? How did I get past the 1 8XX XXX Bid? As I said, I'm not the most experienced investor but where's the logic?

You were willing to buy at 6.5 cents, so you are now ahead of all the people willing to buy at 6 cents. If someone comes in willing to sell at 6 cents, then you get the order. I often put in a bid at or slightly above the ask (because I also want my shares now, and I buy on the OTC where sometimes the bid/ask sizes are small), and then get filled below the ask.

Also, if the buyer/seller is at the same broker, then I think it can be settled at your broker before hitting the exchange.
