good40,

I suggest you trust your analysis and the mathematics therein and place your investment accordingly. If you are really confident in your analysis, why not leverage your assets and make a large margined  ARN short position?

It probably doesn't surprise many,  but I do look for those opportunities teevee.  Let's wait for the update and take it slow,  I don't expect it to drop $3 in a matter of days.  But come on,  a $500 million market cap,  $225 million capex budgets and you'd be happy with 6000 bopd ?

good40, yes, I would be happy wih 6000 bopd because it is just a milestone. Do you think other late entrants into this play will have any less field infrastructure developoment issues (roads, pipelines, acid company and local acid blend facility and capacity, tanks, injection etc)? ARN made a huge investment in this last year, and it should pay off in 2012. There will also be ongoing increases in ...more

Don't  " just be happy with 6000k bopd " teevee... show the netbacks from your expected production rates and compare them with your expected capital expense estimates over the next few years.  When ,  if ever,  do returns pay for the costs ?

The investment banking side of the energy sector has been shown by ARN what it takes to build, develop and grow production and reserves in the Swan Hills play, and I expect there will only be one winner here. As the Swan Hills play matures, I believe ARN will be the aggregator when the investment bankers consolidate "johnny come latlies".

Um teevee... the investment banking side ?  What has that response got to do with my question ?  I'm asking you,  since you said you were happy with 6000 bopd.  How long until returns pay for the costs ?  Something doesn't fit,  $225 million yearly capex requirements,  a $500 million market cap... and only a hopeful 6000k bopd.  I'm thinking that ...more
