OT --- some DD factors
fwiw... there are quite a lot of factors that i personally take into consideration and investigate prior to buying into any stock..
I have picked some good ones and of course a few losers, but try to limit my losses and downside risk so even though i may raise a fuss it is often not because i am losing a bunch of money but because oftentimes management is not being forthright and honest and open or just not performing their duties and responsibilities within the requirements as outlined in their jobscope.
For public reporting companies these guys have certain obligations placed upon them that they need to take seriously.
IF they are running a private company they are basically free to do as they choose but not so in the public arena. Here they have minimum reporting obligations placed on them that they MUST adhere to (and BJB is doing that much) as they remain listed..
However.... above and beyond that ... if a company's management shares updates and keeps investors informed means a lot to all investors.. old and new and potential ..
For me.. even though it is not something that i put a lot of faith in... it can actually have some effect as to whether or not i choose to buy in.. and that is reading seveal public message forums about the stock..
I will read some posts and if is see that people are complaing and have been complaining for some time about management or not receiving updates and are being kept in the dark.. i consider these legitimate complaints and pay attention..
If however there is just a constant rukus on the board of bashers and hypers i pay not attention at all..
So my point is this: If someone comes to this board and reads complaints such as we have been voicing, there are those who will be turned away. (obviously nobody can please all people) but as a general rule.. it is management and the company who suffer more in the long run by playing games with investors than any individual investor does.. we all lose.. including the company. Joe should think of this.
