WOW! part 2Copper porphyries are in high demand worldwide because they are company makers. The average grade of a Copper-Molybdenum porphyry deposit worldwide is 0.5% copper equivalent. Tonnages can range from 100,000,000 to 16,000,000,000 tonnes. British Columbia's largest mines are all porphyries. Some exploration companies put down 2 km holes in the hope of finding one.
We have no clue how big this porphyry deposit is or how rich it will be but we now know CC has one, sitting at surface and probably towering over them. These results are going to translate into big funding for a follow on drill programme. This is no little junior that is going to peak and blow away!
Bornite is important because it is usually associated with gold in these systems. A gold background can greatly increase the profitability of such a deposit. Only the assays can tell.
Hornfels is country rock/siltstone baked by the emplacement of the granodiorite. In general limestone becomes marble/skarn and siltstone becomes hornfels.
