Amazon endorses federal cannabis legislation

Amazon endorses federal cannabis legislation from Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace.

Amazon.com on Tuesday said the company supports a measure by Congresswoman Nancy Mace, D.-S.C., to legalize cannabis. "We're pleased to endorse @RepNancyMace's States Reform Act," the company said. "Like so many in this country, we believe it's time to reform the nation's cannabis policy and Amazon is committed to helping lead the effort." The measure, which was formally introduced in November, would decriminalize cannabis from Schedule I with states to decide on prohibition or regulation. It would also regulate cannabis on a federal level similar to alcohol, and introduce a 3% federal excise tax on cannabis to pay for law enforcement, small business and veterans' health. It would also allow medical research of cannabis.
