Today, EMP Metals (EMPS.c EMPPF) commenced a two-well lithium summer drilling and testing program in Southeast Saskatchewan aimed at delineating the original discovery in the Viewfield area!
This program aims to further delineate a significant lithium discovery in Canadian brine, with concentrations recorded as high as 237 mg/l.
The drilling includes a vertical well, which will take about a week, followed by three weeks of testing, and a horizontal well to assess reservoir pressures and depletion for a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study.
The program's goal is to gather critical pressure, flow rate and fluid composition data from the wells for future engineering studies and enhance understanding of the lithium potential in the area.
Emphasizing the importance of this step in advancing the company's exploration efforts, EMPS CEO Rob Gamley commented:
"We're very excited to be resuming drilling operations and about the prospects identified within the program. It's a significant step forward in our exploration efforts and understanding the basin. Through drilling a horizontal and vertical well, we aim to garner a better understanding of the lithium potential within our project area, further enhancing our already robust resource and project FEED study. We look forward to reporting as results are known."
EMP Metals Background
Helping to address domestic critical element supply chains, EMPS is primed to become a leading lithium producer with the Hub City Lithium (HCL) Project in Saskatchewan, the 3rd most attractive jurisdiction worldwide and first in Canada.
Boasting the highest concentration in Canada, Hub City tested up to 259mg/L lithium and has an inferresd resources of 1.2 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) at 148 mg/L.
Using DLE, EMPS can obtain high lithium recovery rates with significant impurity rejection as it targets the annual production of 12,175 tonnes of LCE. By leveraging advanced direct lithium extraction technologies and a robust financial plan, EMPS is set to achieve substantial production and revenue growth.
