Exxon Mobile buying Pioneer Corporation

BNN Bloomberg just announced that Exxon Mobie Corporation is buying Pioneer Corporation, one of the largest players in the Permian Basin. Will other players start to take a serious look at smaller players such as Permex Petroleum in lrder to expand their operations and reserves in the Permian in order to get in before Exxon gobbles up more reserves and real estate in the Permian? THings could be heating up again in the Basin as speculators take an interest.
