Testing the system ???

I put a buy order in at the last second for 1000 shares at 8.5 cents.
It instantly got filled at 7.750 cents.
There is nothing for sale at 7.75 - it should have filled at 8
you might see it - it should be CIBC.
Does anyone know how that happens???

Abass71,  when you put in a limit buy order, if there happens to be stock for sale at a lower price it will give you the lower price.  You don't always see all the orders as the larger players have the ability to hide their orders.   Same reason why you will see a situation where there are X number of of lots for sale at the ask price, but if you put in an order to buy a ...more
