March 5 trading WTF?

I just noticed the price range today.  Open $2.80, Low $2.05, Close $2.67 and there was a 5 minute circuit breaker trading halt at 11:30 a.m. est. What the hell happened? A short attack to snatch up shares of idiots with stop losses? What a bounce back from the low.
