Changing the ‘Art of the Possible’ at Hot Breccia project
Having received a crucial permit approval from the US Bureau of Land Management for 10 drill pads at its Hot Breccia copper project in Southern Arizona, Prismo Metals (PRIZ.c PMOMF) is "changing the 'Art of the Possible': https://www.thearmchairtrader.com/canadian-stock-market-news/prismo-metals-priz-hot-breccia/
The approval allows drilling to test the stratigraphy below volcanic rock, targeting a large conductive anomaly identified by a 2023 ZTEM survey.
Spanning 1,420 hectares with 227 contiguous mining claims in the Arizona Copper Belt, the Hor Breccia Project is situated between major copper mines like Morenci, Ray, and Resolution.
Drilling is expected to commence in Q3 2024, with President Steve Robertson noting this as a significant milestone for the company as it marks the first exploration in five decades. Historical drilling reported copper intercepts exceeding 1% and elevated zinc levels.
Aiming to provide critical data to guide further exploration in this prolific copper district, PRIZ has budgeted $3 million for a five-hole, 5,000-metre drill program, with each hole planned to reach 1,000 metres through Paleozoic carbonate stratigraphy.
The project shares characteristics with nearby systems, featuring porphyry dikes and breccia pipes containing copper-mineralized rock fragments. Previous sampling indicated copper mineralization from depths of 400-1,000 meters. Historical assay results, though unverified, have been documented through memos, photos, and drill logs.
Looking forward, PRIZ provides a significant opportunity as Hot Breccia has the potential to host a very large copper system, potentially akin even to the nearby, monstrous Resolution deposit, owned by a Rio Tinto/BHP JV
