I noticed a 250k block cross from EIGHT to EIGHT @ 10:22am ........which was probably looking like a heavy bid earlier in the AM. In all my years in the market I have never heard of EIGHT...anyone know who they are?

isn`t there a fund that bought into TCF`s  financing that has an  eight in there name?

I have not heard of EIGHT either, but could be a Chinese trader, 8 is very lucky to the Chinese. Of course could be somthing else all together.

"In all your years" ? They are an institutional broker. No retail. Their clients are all "the big boys". They focus on large block trades and capital market transactions  Might explain why not well known on stockhouse boards. LOL. They've been around for all your years end then some either as '8' or at other firms. It's a cutthroat business with big fees. &

Maxmoe.....you're right.... I should have said DECADES......you know when you used to have dialup internet service which took 15 mins. to connect to the brokage platform...So no I hadn't heard of them before...but I have seen alot of evolution  in my last 30 yrs. of trading

40 years ago when I was the new kid, there was no internet. No email. I got quotes by telephone from brokers at the exchange if I was trading, otherwise the quotes were from the morning newspaper. Back then the globe published everything, every day, not just the 300 index.
