based on 30,000 kWh annual
consumption for households and
1,000,000 kWh per year for
businesses. Turkey's annual
natural gas consumption was 59.6
billion cubic meters in 2021
according to official data. The Energy
Market Regulatory Authority's (EPDK)
new price tariffs were released in the
Official Gazette on June 1, 2022
which increased electricity prices by
15% for households and 25% for
businesses. The average natural gas
expenditure for a household is 3,025
lira a year. 2 Turkey is almost
completely reliant on imports to meet
its natural gas and oil needs, and
domestic demand has risen since the
