INCREDIBLE
SULFIDES INTERSECTED AT ODYSSEY'S LUCKY STAR PROSPECT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (January 3, 2002): Paul Matysek, President of Odyssey Resources Limited (YOD:CDNX), is pleased to report on diamond drilling at the Lucky Star property in northern Turkey. Two separate prospects (Lucky Star and Zavikoy), approximately 12 kilometers apart, are currently being drill-tested.
Drilling at the Lucky Star prospect is focused on "Anomaly D", a 300 by 500 meter ovoid-shaped coincident gravity and electromagnetic feature. The target zone represents one or more related zones of volcanic-hosted sulfide mineralization within volcanic-derived sediments and a coeval rhyolite dome complex.
Two holes have now been completed into this anomaly, both intersecting fine-grained replacement sulfides immediately overlying intensely altered rhyolite, the latter believed to represent the upper edge of a rhyolite dome complex. Hole LS-03 was drilled approximately 600 meters to the northeast of discovery hole LS-01, and intersected a 16-meter interval of altered, volcanic-derived sediments hosting up to 20% fine-grained replacement sulfides (172-188 meters). Hole LS-05, collared approximately 400 meters northeast of the discovery hole intersected a 47-meter interval hosting similar replacement sulfides (155-203 meters). Assay results from both holes will be reported as soon as they become available.
