I think the set up for Accord Financial looks good here. Chesswood and Accord have similar business models so it's a very good comp.


Accord reported $0.68 in H1 and I think could report over 40 cents for Q3 soon. Stock is trading < 5x FTM EPS by my estimate and growing very quickly. I assume once growth slows down they will increase the dividend or renew the NCIB.

Accord earned about $0.50 in H1 if you normalize for losses. On such a small earnings base, you have to be careful about your assumptions with respect to expenses, margins, credit, etc., because seemingly small amounts (500k here, 250k there), make material differences.
