I think

this will play out like Diamond Field's massive nickle discovery in Labrador.
First, they pulled some great holes.
Second, Teck came in with a fat cheque and bought 10% (I believe) at a substantial premium to the then share price. The "grandfather offer". They even gave Robert Friedland the voting rights.
Third, Inco and Falconbridge duked it out with Inco, now Vale, winning the prize.
Fourth, Teck sold out for five times its investment.
Fifth, twenty-five years later, Vale has yet to recover its investment.
