Mr Nauman! Kennecot/RioTinto/Greens Creek doing well, Alexco seems promising if HL skills and support $$ are successful. They did issue another 43-101 increase in Keno reserves and resources lately. ... Rise is an interesting study for a speculative possibility of re-opening idle property. Exactly! Rise might be an “investment” as a gamble for fun, its all about the fun factor, right? Not to get into the history of Greens Creek (its as convoluted as Keno Hill). It appears that Greens Creek, in its current form,  had  Mr Nauman as General Manager for  Kennecott Minerals from 1993 to 1998 and Hecla was the JV partner.  So will Rise be a repeat of “Hecla Greens ...more

Yes, very interesting series of events and connections there, and I must admit Nauman is a good salesman. I did pick up some Rise today (Apr 3rd) at about the low for the year, strictly as a legal case play. If it does get really interesting It may be good to hold if the case has a positive outcome. The market thought is was worth 80+ cents before the ruling. The downside is that it  probably ...more

Markets could see $100 silver - Hecla Mining CEO Phillips Baker This Kitco interview IMO was really tough but did bring up a lot of pro and con comments as to the value of silver and future pricing. IMO Mr Baker faces a tough row as I would bet if silver approaches 100 silver will be replaced for industrial for sure.  To the point though Mr Baker did admit that silver needs to increase to be ...more

Watson talks about the high conductivity of silver, higher than copper. I remember reading years ago that the Manhattan atom bomb project required giant magnets for electromagnetic separation of U-235. They couldn't get the allocation of copper for the project in a timely manner due to the war so project manager Leslie Groves borrowed 15,000 tons of silver (440,000,000 oz) from the US Treasury ...more
