Gen1 vs gen2 vs gen3
I suspect the main difference is gen3 has more silicon than gen2 which has more silicon than gen1. Since silicon is more expensive than graphite, gen3 is more expensive than gen2 which more expensive than gen1. HPQ mgmt, let's have more transparency.

Iscfa, While looking up SiOx on the web I came across this website that looks pretty credible. Check this section or others. Silicon oxides for Li-ion battery anode applications: Toward long-term cycling stability If you want to do a deep dive, I hope you're a good swimmer. It can get very technical. Don't count on Bernard to give the recipe of the secret sauce. ;-) TOCKY8008

The greater weighting of silicon accounts for the increased capacity, the tinkering with the coating tech accounts for the decreased degradation.

It's moving along, stay tuned as they say. I believe the 200 cycles NR will be this week. At the end of the last video on Agoracom, George mentionned that he's going to Singapore this Saturday and would like to do another interview before leaving if Bernard has results. Bernard was not pessimistic about that. TOCKY8008
