somebody knew about the pending deal because the stock has doubled since May

If by "somebody" you mean half the damn trading floor, I'd agree.  I guess the price didn't get out, though, judging by how it was running.  Still think that a) VWAP was not the way to price it and b) the premium was too low anyway.  Personally, I think the fix was in when Air Liquide came on board.

Not with the board onside, no other apparent suitors, and millions of shares having traded into new hands on the way up (though it would be interesting to know the float percentage of shares traded above $15). Lawsuits would first have to be filed and the co. starting to squirm at the look of the evidence - if there is anything substantial - to be presented in court before they'd blink. That ...more
