too many stores??? WHAT!!!

Did I really read someone say Alberta was saturated with too many stores...

So lets look at Colorado because it has been legal the longest in the states and is the most mature market I thought of,

there are 572 retail stores and 449 Medical dispensaries as of Oct 2019 with a population of 5.611 Million people and an area covering 269837 Sq KM's

Alberta had 270 retail stores in Oct 2019 with a  population of 4.371 Million people and an area covering 661848 Sq KM's

so the math tells me we have room to grow in Alberta, and the AGLC Board agrees and predicts 500 stores by the end of 2021, as an interesting side note, Colorado marijuana dispensaries broke an annual sales record for the sixth straight year in 2019, and they're already on track for a new high in 2020.

Good post StSebastian...thankyou. I have posted numbers similar before comparing Colorado to Canada and Alberta in particular and it may be a good indication of whats to come or where we are headed as Canada progresses. I read that Canada will need 3500 retail outlets to catch up to Colorado on a per capital basis. Numbers are numbers and facts are facts, Smoked has a problem understanding this ...more
