Katanga Production

Having read as much as I can regarding the current situation with Katanga mining and the imminent restart of production. This seemed to me to be a great stock to put money into, especially because it is near the beginning of an upswing.

I do have a question for anyone who may know... I didn't see anything about what happened to the share price in 2007 or 2008 whichever it was where the share price dropped from 25$ or higher... I know that there was a swing in commodities prices but what was the catalyst for the sudden drop in share price? Anyone here able to summarize?

Sirk ..... collapse in Commodity prices.   Plain and simple.  They were not the only ones.   Look at Teck Corporation.   You could buy them in January of 2015 for $3.50.     They went to $35 a year later.   Teck was at $52, went to $4.    Went back to $60 ..... back to $4.    Now back near $30 KAT will be several dollars soon enough .... Thanks for the reply, I was looking and trying to see if it was more complicated that just the drop in commodities. Didn't find evidence of a problem with the mine or the company other than the scandal BS which commonly happens anyhow. So with the big orders that Glencore just confirmed and production starting shortly, I'll strap in and enjoy the ride. It may be a bit of a roller coaster ...more
