Increase in royalties DRC - no problem

the copper production cost Codelco & Freeport are 1,26$/lb; The pdoduction costs of Glencore/KAT 0,87$/lb; the increase in royalties from 2% to 10% makes (2,69/100x8) 0,21$/lb; production costs new is 1,08$/lb; that is signifikant cheaper than Codelco & Freeport; additionally cobalt sales. Thats ok, DRC is a poor Country.

KAT will have negative C1 Cash Costs even with the increases in royalties in Co and Cu Best, Katanga Shareholder

https://calichebahada.com/wp-content/uploads/20181005-GS-Copper-projects2.pdf Copper miner report published by Goldman late last year.  Speaks for itself but Katanga is by far the most valuable project they analysed and I belive has one of (if not the) best C1 costs.

I would add that cost of sales estimate looks high (more bullish) and cobalt price estimation looks too high as well (more bearish).    The elephant in the room here is that Cobalt prices have completely collapsed (and continue to) even with KAT delaying sales by 9+ months.  Don't think Glencore finding radioactive cobalt at the same time that GEM backs out of their contract in ...more
