LCC stock quote last days

FYI :

As to my info an American Hedge fd had to liquidate a number of positions - including around 150.000 lcc

What a huge mistake on the part of the hedge fund. It just goes to show that hedge funds do not base their decision-making on anything that is happening in the real world. Lumina and Salta has just got started in proving up the biggest underground source of copper that Argentina has ever seen in its history. Lumina is just trying to figure out the best way to do it. Hence the strategic review. It ...more

"No major mining company with a nominally sane and rational board of directors that doesn't want to suffer a proxy slate attack is going to commit upwards of three billion dollars to a major copper project in Argentina and it doesn't matter how many fancy dancing 'strategic reviews' you do" Priceless Quote. All you guys who are in this for the M&A spec... there's ...more

Yes of course there is a reason for the decline ... Dr Copper is in big worries because of economic slowdown which for sure has a big impact on quotes ... the industrial metal is leading when it comes to state of the economy .. but no worries although China is presenting lower %'s of growth it still is advancing in volumes .. When sentiment is bad, but i don't need to tell you, people ...more

Agree with you on the M&A. I'm not in it for speculative M&A. I'm in it because of the highly likely JV. I'm not going to repeat the story of the potential JV because I've already worn out that rut on the record. If Lumina fails to JV then there will be a viable reason for the stock to go down but it is unlikely to go more than 30% lower because it has a proven underground ...more

i don't agree with your logic. If they JV'ed the project 50:50, how does LCC plan to finance it's half of the +3 bln capex? It's market cap is $295 mm right now. If you could the NAV down from $30 bucks to $15 and assume some dilution for equity raises, all of a sudden you have a share price that is already trading in line with comparable companies (~0.5x P/NAV, etc). I think there ...more

What's your response to this message MidasTouchez ?  Would be interesting to know ...

You don't have to agree with anybody. It's a free world. The potential JV is not for the building of a mine. The potential JV is for more exploration. If they JV on just one of the neighbouring claims then Lumina will double its copper assets under the ground. If they JV on two then Lumina will triple its copper assets under the ground. The cost to explore just one claim is likely to be ...more

Lumina's drill program is almost complete, I doubt that they will continue with drilling.  There is a for sale sign on the property and the committee is hammering out a deal as we speak. Just my opinion. Cheers

You know of a deal that is being discussed? Tell me more. BHP is an unlikely suitor and Lumina have made an unsolicited approach to an uninterested BHP. Meanwhile, a JV is being discussed and all parties are interested. Shareholders are far better off with a JV involving exploration than with being taken over at this stage. And the exploration is affordable. And Lumina has already got all the ...more

Time will tell what the deal is my friend.  Do you own any LCC shares, or are you here just pumping your penny stock ?
Comment by MidasTouchez on Jul 27, 2012 11:57pm
I own shares in all the companies in the Taca Taca region that have listings on Canadian stock exchanges. I don't rely on time to tell me what the deal is going to be. I already know what the deal is likely to be and it isn't BHP.

if the company doesn't hit a bid soon and the market wakes up to the fact that LCC is a junior with no way of funding capex or building the project, stock is going to 6 bucks. No one cares about exploration, JV, etc. You're delusional if you thnk that's going to create value for this stock.
