New SARS-like Virus

Anyone got an idea on where MDG stands in the "pecking order" of manufacturers to produce an emergency vaccine should this new SARS-like virus in the UK which can transmit person-to-person starts  to become more of a worry to WHO?

Thanks for the info but I was wondering IF there is any sort of medical emergency declared, Medicago so far is only at the clinical test stages and other than demonstrating their ability to manufacture - a proof of concept - as was the case with the US DARPA funding of $12 million- are they in a position to actually be called upon and receive a commercial contract or will countries still go to the ...more

If I remember correctly from one of Medicago's presentation posted on their site, there was a slide from the presentation stating that in an emergency, vaccines that have passed phase 2 clinical trials can be approved for production. Unless I'm mistaken, i don't recall Medicago working on a vaccine for this virus and if they're not involved now, it would take years to get the ...more
