stope backfill

That stooe helped developement out I believe. I would guess that waste rock was used instead of tailings so saved a bunch of hoisting and lowering.

Mike got all of the heavy lifting done. This was a monster challenge to get done. He will still b available as a consultant.

read the statement... NCI is blending and crushing for water content -2- blend for the mill.. NCI has a large pile behing the lift..  very little is moving underground.. they are sinking a new 90 foot shaft to get under the dyke.. the mine itself sits on top of an aquifer and in volcanic subsurface..  a lot of the early glorybhole shafts were above the valley - and cut into a ...more

patchh, You stated: they are sinking a new 90 foot shaft to get under the dyke.. This is a very signficant and undisclosed fact. If true, it means they are not going to produce substantial amounts of Cu by the end of Q4 2021. That is very important and should have been released, if true. They said they are going to get to 3000 tpd hoisting by the end of Q4. How do you know what you have ...more

* Lateral Development: Lateral development continued on multiple headings, providing access to ore mining zones in the East South orebody and advancing development towards the East North orebody. During the Q2 2021 the Company continued development of the East North area through a dike structure located between the East South and East North orebodies. A second heading crossing the dike is 90 feet ...more

I recon to read the latest sedar filings: all of this is explained and published there. the 2nd passage is 90 feet below the first one ( MDA report) Cheers, Tom

I could be wrong. But I believe they r running a different direction in a deeper zone that is going to have to still cross the water dyke. This is a big system. Costs some time and cash to get it done. nf

think of this dike like a river dike ! sounds like they are simply going to go under the sealed dike :: above the point of grief.. i am more concerned they hav to installa second Drain Well at the new level..  2000 + 200 feet

they are going under the dike w a new level...  not a new shaft...  and yes..  i think their main focus going forward will B the OP...  Round Mountian down by tonopah - kinross/newmont..  when reviewing the Drain well Logs w Nev State - has several of these DW..  RM is above valley floor and lateral into the mountain face.. on the surface - the dike(s) will follow ...more

A very disappointed update. Some new concerns: Only one stope (9500 tons) mined in the quarter.  9500 tons is a small stope.  They would need to mine about 50 of these stopes per quarter to reach 5000 tpd.  There is something that they are not telling us.  Unless the average stope size is much bigger, I suspect that 5000 tpd and 6500 tpd might pipe dreams. More company ...more

RocDoc1 - nice summary. Most of it matched my concerns - I did not catch the weasel words on hoisting with development rock included. I am not aware of any publications regarding managing ground water from geological structures.  This is a pretty specialised topic.  It sounds like NCU was trying to use pressure grouting to slow the water inflow with the dyke.  Pressure grouting techniques and effectiveness are highly dependent on the local problem and the contractor doing the work.  I do know that pressure ...more

During my 40 year mining career (Safety and Environmental) I was involved in two different US western underground mines during startup that ran into saturated dykes.  One made it through startup and continues to operate to this day.  (The dyke still produces a reduced flow.)  The other was abandoned after 28 months of hard work to control the water inflow.  We spent big bucks ...more

I have been told that although there is water ingress the mine is not below an aquifer. I believe the information is accurate but if anyone has contrary evidence from the years of drilling and engineering it would be interesting to hear about it. N

Fresh water supply is sourced from dewatering wells. Early in the mine life, dewatering well WW-01 will provide this demand, as it has a proven yield well above the required demands. Fresh water will be stored in a fresh water tank for u. A future deep bore has been allowed in the mining costs, should the dewatering well WW-01 draw down early in the mine life. State Well Logs show that area like ...more

40 year mining caree ! here is the question ? NCI has drilled a 12 inc casing / 2000 ft Drain Well... the well is lined - i believe full tier..  there is some screening arond 600 feet what is the max capacity in GPM or gallons per minute?? The mine has ample land for additional reclamation ponds... treatment and re-circulation to the planned Open Pit operation ???

Good post steve. It sounds like ncu have solved the prob. They gave us the heads up that the next drift would go through it as well.  Also fans r going to b late. So no biggy. 25% more production and 15% more cap ex. I will do that deal all day long. nf

I think the big thing was not water but ground. They had to stablize ground. They did not compromize. Safety was 1rst.  nf

" but water can be a challenge even in the driest state in the US." Yep!  Always been a problem.  Look i.e. Sutro Tunnel - (for flatlanders     Sutro Tunnel - Wikipedia  ) Company reported water during the shaft construction four or five years ago. b.

Agreed looks like a 20 for 1 at 5 cents consolidation and a reboot....and then let's see if they can get the mine up and running again after a recapitalization
