The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a poor 54-80-134. The TSX Venture Exchange gained one point to 729 while polished diamond prices edged upward. Eric Friedland and Tom Peregoodoff's Peregrine Diamonds Ltd. (PGD), 21 cents early this month, fell to an intraday low of 13 cents before closing unchanged at 16.5 cents on 2.32 million shares. The slump was apparently a reaction to stock guru, John Kaiser, seeming to favour another of his favourites, Scandium International Mining Corp. (SCY), over Peregrine. (Scandium gained one cent to 17 cents on 502,000 shares.)
