The appeal Aduviri presented for his 6 year sentence to be overturned, was rejected last Friday by the Court of Puno. Although he still has the option of presenting an appeal before the Supreme Court, time could run short. On October 23rd he was suspended as regional governor for 120 days, so if that term ends without a successful appeal, he will be definitely vacated from the position and new elections would be called for the Regional Government of Puno.
