Technical Advisery Committee...... oh my....

Aka... Another company review of why has nothing worked so far and what to do about it?

Correct me if I am wrong but that news has no meat on it only another thread to hopium! The wait continues!
Comment by davidtaylor on Oct 04, 2024 9:16am
Technical Advisory Committee makes sense.  If want they really need is some senior technical advice then they don't need to put someone on the Board for it.
Comment by monte8 on Oct 04, 2024 9:49am
I believe there is going to be another press release soon. The technical Advisory Committee just announced in press release was somewhat vague and didn’t really say too much other than the candidates and their qualifications.   Only one sentence to sescribe “Quarterhill's Technical Advisory Committee will be comprised of experts dedicated to guiding the Company's technology ...more

I thought I was the only one that reads all news with a cynical eye ! Why indeed form this committee? Is it to save money ? Advisors are paid less than employees or directors? Are advisors also insiders that have to or don't have to file everything on sedi ? Is it some sort of ulterior secrecy motive or just about money? Was it our choice or was it their choice ? Or is it all just fluffy ...more

Something is being anticipated and I believe thius latest news although vague, will play into it! We've had the share price increase of over 20% in just over 2-weeks on moderate volume.  To me it sounds like another press release will be out in the coming weeks to tie this all together.

Didn't our leader say logistics?  How far has the logistics initiative moved past concept?  This announcement defintely says logistics it is moving into the implementation phase.  As the I/O Hub operator east of the Rockies, QTRH already processes large amounts of tolling, WIM and classification data. While it is early, the logistics initiative is probably further along that ...more

Quarter Hill morphing to DollarMountain.

I wouldn't mind if Descartes bought us. Hard to forget I sold that stock at $2. After a double.
Comment by barneyj44 on Oct 04, 2024 3:18pm
Maxmoe , I feel your pain. I sold Descartes at $5.50 after finally getting my money back after many painfull years. Guess that's why I've held onto Wilan(Quarterhill) so many years. Don't want that to happen again.  Lol
Comment by Maxmoe on Oct 04, 2024 4:06pm
That's a bit creepy. Ive used those exact words when asked about dsg. "I feel your pain ".
Comment by Maxmoe on Oct 04, 2024 4:15pm
My lesson learned was to henceforth use a stop loss. And stick to it. Because sometimes I'm just wrong or a high risk investment fails. It's saved me many times in the mining stocks. Sometimes it's a great management team and a highly prospective property. But no economic orebody. Works for biotech and other research but there just aren't nearly as many of them as there are junior ...more

I don't use stop losses on thinly traded stocks like Quarterhill as it can turn around and bite you. Nice day today. A nice news release will keep the momentum going.

Barney's experience with Descartes is mine too
Comment by ChiChi3 on Oct 04, 2024 5:54pm
Well, the market's reaction to that meaningless press release was a bit different than mine...I'll never understand this stock!  Very pleased at today's movement so I'll bite my tongue.  Still VERY long the stock and will remain that way until we hit Homework's targets of north of $4.  Have never owned this many shares of this firm and I bought my first shares of ...more

Hey Chi, it's .  Today's announcement put flesh on the logistics bone. Simultaneously,  it said that the tolling product development is done, at least for now (congestion pricing is totally stalled).   The revelation that Mike Childress has left QTRH confirms that, as well, and underscores the logistics SAAS  priority.  Expect tollong and enforcement to pay ...more

I too on DSG. My book is 2.03 for 4000. Little did I know 20 years later that would be worth half a million. I have periodically sold most on the way up but still hold 600 and have promised myself to sell only a 100 more some day. Logistics co Descartes buying QTRH? Never thought of that but the space has similarities.
Comment by Maxmoe on Oct 04, 2024 6:21pm
They have more than enough cash to buy it. Maybe the change in the couch cushions. But the stock is so expensive on every measure , they could pay with stock and it would be very accretive. I'm just spit balling. Just some old schmuck on a bullboard.

I guess the next few months or by end of December it should be obvious how the company, their advisory committee and the SHARE PRICE all aligns, will we gain recognition by achieving set goals on EBIDTA and rest?? The celebration is premature but things seems to start coming together.? QTRH must leave 2 and than 3 dollars behind before I will congratulate mngmt on turning thus mess around! Must ...more

I agree with you Socrates1 on the end of December 2024 time frame (perhaps mid March 2025 with year end financials released too).  More press releases (with comments on cash received from customers after implementations, new contracts awarded and/or status Logistics pilot etc.), by then hopefully.   Your share price target by end of December might be agressive but, directionally, I ...more

BuyNmonitor presents a very feasible choreography for the next 3 -6 months. No one is celebrating Socrates, but there is cause for quiet optimism.  I won't go over the list...we all know it.  So far this management team is delivering on virtually all its statements/guidance.  There is reason to start to believe, but, yes, more is always needed. Socrates, I have a question for ...more

Fridays and month end or weekly and monthly sp closes are the cornerstones of trading aka technicals since that gives you insight of an ongoing established trend or could signal a start or and end to a trend! Our trend up have just started after a major low at 1.49 and a 4.1 million buying frenzy last month with a great close up of 1.72! Other signals are also confirming that! Volume is the ...more
