RE:RE:Strategic Alliance with Nygard

You make fair points. Consumer debt is high and getting higher, forcing people to focus more on price and value. I wish the campaigning political parties would focus more on all that debt. It's the elephant in the room, and nobody has the spine to tackle it.  Instead, the media hammers away at fluff. In Canada, they're obsessed with the stupid Duffy Distraction. So boring.

The last time I visited local Sears, about three weeks ago, it was almost deserted, the hardware section was almost cleaned out and there was only one employee on the floor.  They stopped carrying most of my favorite tools years ago.  There's really no reason to make the trip any more. All they advertise in their flyers is fridges, stoves, mattresses and weird clownish children's clothing.  I can't stand all the cheap junk from Bangladesh.

Something is wrong when you have to shop online from vendors on the other side of the planet to get the things you used to be able to buy from the department store down the street.  Rgds

Addendum: Just looking at the flyer from this weekend, I see Levi's jeans $59 at Sears, $21.77 at the local Wal-Mart.  Enough said?  Regards
