Potential on sale

Realistically speaking, I do not believe that there will be a sale announcement in the near-term.
Why would an entity come in and buy STP given its operational troubles? My feeling is that STP will have to exhibit an iota of operational success in 2014 in order to draw interest from any suitors.

In the meantime, if you are patient, there will be some money to be made in the short-term. Their next operational update will show increased production (How hard can it be to beat 4000 bbl/day?) and paint a rosier picture, at least for the near-term. I'm gambling on a small increase for a short-to-medium term flip. Totally speculative on my part.

With respect to the rumours and innuendo surrounding STP, that's all they are. What investors/speculators should focus on is the news releases. What is known is that wells were and are coming online since the last NR and that production should increase. SHOULD.

I can't believe that I'm going to comment on zanadu's rubbish.... but...  Good Lord, man! A dollar per share on a sale??? A part of me dies every time I read an inane post like that.

Stay focused on the here and now. You should make some money in the process.

Right now the SP is telling us no deal is in the works - unless they've managed to plug whoever leaked the ...more

Shat - I have a lot of respect for you. Neither you nor I work for STP. My comments are based on what I am hearing chatter when I walk the Calgary downtown. STP is on selling list....there are other companies as well.  People will buy for their existing assets and what every oil is under ground. Also, when they did not produce any oil share was trading around $1.50/ share. Aren't you ...more
