Timing is right for another Fort Hills operations fiasco

Timing is right for another Fort Hills operations fiascoTeck and Total own 46% of what has been to date a pretty messy project in Fort Hills.

One more good operating screwup or even an ill-timed shutdown may be enough to make the Fort Hills project untouchable to anyone but Suncor.

Too cynical?

What would you do if you were Suncor if the only two minority partners have stated that they want out?

I can think of a number of ways Suncor can create a situation whereby SU becomes the only legitimate bidder.  It now becomes a waiting game and both Teck and Total have publicly demanded a trade in sports parlance.

Kinda sounds like the Elon-Twitter situation to me.
