So I run a restaurant and rservations and bookings are surging!  Last week I had 2 people per evening for dinner and starting next month I have 10 people booked that is a 500% increase.  Yes I need 40 people to break even.  So you see something from nothing is a massive surge!

I do understand your mathematical point. However, I would much rather hear of a surge in people booking than no surge at all.  Additionally, you would have no idea what the depth of the surge is, as nothing is quantified in the article.  Anecdotally, I would say the surge in bookings is real, as they are forward bookings.  For example, I've now done all kinds of bookings for ...more
