bankrupt

There is a non negligible chance for another Air Canada bankruptcy - it went bankrupt in 2003.

Know-nothing short just started your position eh? Would love to know how a company that just earned $2.2 Billion net income over the past year, and $2.8 Billion free cash flow, is gonna go 'bankrupt'. Enlighten us dingus.

What is a non neglisive chance of default ? If you  want a number look at thais: AC has a BB credit rating; according to S&P . According to S&P datas, (1981-2021) for all the BB (-, - and +)  the Probability of default (PD) for 5 years  was only 6%.  ....and a default could be ony a covenant default,  nothing to do with a bankrupsy.  I own 2029  bonds ...more

Dear Nordico : You seem  to be intellectially challeged. Have your I.Q. measured to determine how stupid you really are. I won't be reading any reply as it will be completely irrelevant.

Thanks for clarifying to all that you're just a troll. Very real possibility you go bankrupt soon.

Hello George :), Rip Van Winkle only slept for 20 years. You have broken the record. 21 years. WAKE UP and don't post FUD. In 2003, the airline filed for bankruptcy protection and in the following year emerged and reorganized under the holding company ACE Aviation Holdings Inc. From April 2009 under the stewardship of Calin Rovinescu (till February 2021), the business was fully transformed ...more

If they elect to defer a chunk of deliveries then  the capex pressure is released

Yeah, it's just that easy.  Just like if they do a reverse 1 for 2 stock split.  Then AC would have the same number of stocks out as they did in 2019.  The price would be double at $30 per share. Yeah, it's just that easy.

J-B You re-writing history again?  From 2007 to 2017 AC was dead money.  They had 3 good years then became dead money again.  They are on what about 4 years of dead money so if the cycle holds true they should have a good run again in about 6 years lol. On a more serious note the share price is interesting again and I may re-enter yet again even though cloudy skies of a recession ...more

AC money was dead money? Seriously? I still own the shares purchased in 2012 at $1.07. And the shares added on covid plunge and margins call day in March 2020. The entire pile is still in excellent shape and will be in even finer shape over coming year. Mostly the losers with no portfolios talk nonsense. AC is one of the few Canadian stocks in my portfolio. Unrealized capital gains can go up and ...more

With all your respect, it is a stretched explanation. You went back to the 2012-20129 period to argue that you made a lot of money, fine, but leaving your money there cost you a lot in opportunities in addition to the 50$ to 15$ pull-back.  Yep, you made money till 2019 but since 2020, that money was dead.  Said otherwise, your 50X return (from 1$ to 50$) in 7 years from 2012 to 2019 ...more

Alive I agree with what other have said!  Great you did really well buying at $1.07 in 2012 but you are also the guy who could only afford a few shares as you also owned Air Canada in 2003 and got wiped out when they went into CCAA....That said,  I would be hiding in shame not bragging about buying in 2012 and still holding the damn shares that is the definition of stupid!!!!!!!!
Comment by JuIieRichards on Aug 08, 2024 11:51pm
Giveme, you are a typical broke type. Why would anyone have owned AC in 2003? Get a life and give yourself a break.
