Share buybacks

were supposed to start today.  It would make sense that  AC would be buying back the maximum allowable amounts per day while prices are so low.

They can buy 100000 share every hour.

Yes, although it is a long game. We may seem some sell down here and there, so usually it is more just a steady amount daily. Nothing is showing up on sedi.ca as of yet, but usually they don't report transactions for at least a couple days. According to sedi.ca, Air Canada reported purchases 2-7 days in general after purchasing. For anyone that wants to access the filings, go to sedi.ca ...more

I expect they'll be front-loading the buybacks over the first few months as well; might as well buy as much as possible while the SP is low to mid-$20s.
