Almost 160K shares traded this morning. Bid $0.77, ask $0.78, looking like a great start. What does the L2 look like now, it was looking great prior to trading this morning. Thank you in advance!

Fun day so far, back up to 0.8 (where it should have been imho). Seems retail is holding as the ask remains thin.

With the stock up .04 on friday right before the close I thought we might see a bit of a pull-back this morning but nope we are super resilient!!! whois

I was expecting the same thing Whois. Also, from the L2 that Look4Profit posted (thank you), it looked like there was going to be a bit of resistance at $0.78/0.79/0.80, and we just plowed through that.

Now that we have entered the $0.80's, would you be able to post the L2 again? I'm curious to see how it looks. Thank you again in advance and I wont ask anymore today lol

thanks L4P! if only that 234,500 @0.71 would click market instead of limit lol we would be at $3.40!!

That is looking really good, not much resistance at all (although they keep adding on the ask). Hopefully the 234500 shares @ $0.71 can move up a little. We have a lot of support from $0.58 to $0.72. Let get those closer to the high $0.70's! Thank you again.

I bought a couple of boat loads under $0.50........ to buy at $0.80....UGH! Actually, I can't wait until dividends are paid......... I can retire on dividends.

@Telemarker I tend to agree, however if there is some extra profits generated, I think LB will do a one time special dividend to all longtime and dedicated shareholders. Almonty is a tier 1 company, and a one time dividend would illustrate this company cares equally about shareholders as well as customers, partners, the community, etc.

Well Chizzles I hope you maxed out your TFSA with this stock as much as possible. For me overall it would make my overall tax percentage pretty low between mine and my wife's TFSAs whois

I do have a lot in my TFSA, but not only there. If we ever got anything near 40x, even at $0.50, that would come to $20 a share. Just 25,000 shares would then we worth a half a million dollars. That said, I don't think we will get 40x. Any thoughts or expections on what would be a fair amount per share if we flipped?

TwelveBagger on Aug 20, 2024 2:18pm
I would be disappointed if it was flipped for less than a 10x - obviously hopeful for any more than that! Every share my wife and I hold are in our TFSA luckily 40x would be unreal and that's what they flipped their last mine for $$$$ What does everyone else think?

I cannot imagine dividends would ever be paid while they have debt on the books. I imagine the the loan agreement likely has provisions against it as well until the loan is paid. Companies that cant grow or find better uses for cash give it back. Im sure this company would look at acquisitions first or such.

a nice amount of my original shares were from that Woulfe transition - otherwise I would have blinked and missed the opportunity 27.20 per share - I'll take it lol - SOLD

Lucky for everyone here that LB would never take $4 as a buyout

I also have a lot in my TFSA`s as well as RRSP`s. TFSA`s are better in the case of a sell out but if there isn`t enough room then RRSP`s are only taxed when you start drawing from them so it saves from the new capital gains tax.

Be wary of your investments and trading patterns in a TFSA because you can be severely taxed. It is only tax free if you comply with Revenue Canada rules.

That is how I've always interpreted the rules also. I'm pretty sure we are safe, buying a stock a holding for 10 years or so before we sell.

No..... you can't just buy any stock for your TFSA. It has to be a qualified stock from a qualified exchange. (Plus day trading is not allowed)
Comment by
Look4Profit on Aug 21, 2024 12:03pm
Also true, but I don't see how Almonty wouldn't be qualified and reputable brokerage houses usually block unqualified companies from being traded in specific accounts so no worries here.

@Look4Profit There might have been an issue with Almonty stock when purchasing it on the venture exchange before graduating to the TSX. But I think the saving grace was when the stock on the TSX dropped below the price on the venture exhange. I haven't looked into it yet.

That`s a good point, and any available info is quite murky. From what I've read I do feel pretty safe about it but will definitely have my fingers crossed when the time comes :)

Just don't day trade the stock in your TFSA and you'll be fine. . .
Comment by
chizzles on Aug 21, 2024 12:06pm
Agreed. But I think Almonty counts as qualified. They are trading on the TSX, not the TSX Venure. And at the time of us selling, I am assuming it will be worth many dollars per share. I think penny stocks, day trading, etc would not qualify. Almonty will. Especially if we are holding for over a decade.

TechOne on Aug 21, 2024 12:57pm
For your information, TSX Venture is a qualified exchange... You can buy and hold shares in TFSA for any company that trades on TSX-V ... You cannot buy shares on US side that trades OTC or Pink sheets.. FWIW
