Funds positioning realized gains

A lot of funds have rode ALA from a year ago and now want to crystalize profits. They will also be selling some losers. I expect ALA share price will start to rise mid December as this phenomena completes. We have seen it for decades. Hold and prosper.

That works for funds because they don't pay taxes. The unit holders pay the tax. I was thinking along similar lines for retail investors except that if they have waited this long to sell then why not wait for a new tax year in January. This applies to all stocks with gains not just ALA. And as there are fewer tax loss candidates this year to offset gains from winners we may see more people ...more

If you believe what you are saying; it begs the question why wouldn't you sell before it drops and then re acquire at a later date. I don't think you truely believe what you said otherwise you would act.
