Why not spin off the renewables to realize value?

and let the regulated utilities find their true value, then sell the spin off renewable company for better value. Together they are a drag on the S/P. IMO

i believe they are entertaining that idea, from what i understand problem may be renewable assets might not be worth as much as hoped.... maybe someone with more insight can weigh in?

  markets are experiencing high volatility due to uncertainty over rates and the economy making it harder for a renewables spin-off to go public successfully…things are precarious currently and prone to further turbulence until rates and markets rebalance…asset prices that soared due to years of easy money now need to reset at fair values suited for higher rates and slower growth….prolonged ...more

imo... the recent surge in the 10-year Treasury note, leading to a subsequent downturn in utility and renewable energy stocks, including AQN, can be primarily attributed to the Federal Reserve's unwavering commitment to maintaining "higher for longer" interest rates… however, it is important to emphasize that even a minor adjustment toward a more dovish stance in the Federal Reserve& ...more

Interest Rates may stay higher for longer. Excerpts from an article on BNN's website: Yields among both the U.S. and Canadian bond markets hit 16-year highs earlier this week. The trend comes after fresh signals from central banks in both countries suggesting elevated interest rates will last for some time yet.
