Oil Hedges

Do you think that Athabascas hedges this year is what is keeping the stock down in relation to its peers?
Comment by Maxmoe on Jan 05, 2022 11:22am
Nice try. Do you think your not so subtle backhanded bashing of Ath will help your sgy go higher, or do you just do it for fun? Newsflash. They all hedge. Hedging was so 2021 and eventually became a non issue for all producers .
Comment by Maveryk on Jan 05, 2022 11:28am
ATH is the majority of my holdings, but I too am pissed off with the hedges - especially the 13.5k for 2022 @$54/bbl. That one stings A LOT. Even with the handcuffs of such a terrible hedge, the enterprise value is still dramatically depressed at @70 oil let alone $80.  Hopefully the hedge was nothing more then a pressured agreement to close finacning. Another hedge like that and I will ...more

Guess who said this?  Hint, not me, but it sounds like something I'd say. Theres criticism and then being a whiny B.  You have demonstated the latter. Chill out and show some grace amigo - you're really dampening the experience of raking in the dollars. yup, it was you hedgehodge
Comment by Maveryk on Jan 05, 2022 4:06pm
Perhaps you should take your own advice on grace rather than throwing out insults to strangers on the internet who are expressing their own views on a very questionable company move.  The fact you're trying to shut down the conversation and slander people who speak contrary to your beliefs only shows how insecure you are in your position and your own DD. Do you really have no criticisms ...more

Let's face it. ATH went over to the hedge and pooped her pants today. Onwards and upwards ! glta

No to all your questions. Of course they have hedges below the market. They were done BEFORE oil took off. You think they hedged at 54 when oil was "well above 70" .  did it occur to you their bankers insist on it? Did you not notice all the other hedges all the other companies were forced to put on last year? I am a cranky old fart, I can live with that. But you were the one I ...more

You got one thing right - you're a cranky old fart.  Keep jerking off bad moves and pushing an echo chamber of ignorance and disparagement.

It must be hard for you to have your fanciful notions disabused. And can I have my thesaurus back please?
Comment by TickerStock101 on Jan 06, 2022 10:10am
How do you get 62% of production hedged?
Comment by Maxmoe on Jan 06, 2022 1:44pm
It's easy if you just make sh!t up or rely on Fox News and friends for your fact checks. Why read company releases or read slide 7 of the current presentation deck when you can just consult on line influencers and hedge fund stooges.
Comment by Maxmoe on Jan 06, 2022 1:49pm
Me, I read the presentation deck a couple times. I even sent them a note about the typo on slide 6. Hint .... it's significant.

I have held Ath due to their being undervalued but also SGY. Have you looked at SGY, last year they had bad hedges due to the banks forcing them on them but for 2022 I think they look very undervalued even more than Athabasca Oil now (thank you hedges...rrrr) . Let me know your thoughts once you check them out.
Comment by cahclick on Jan 05, 2022 8:04pm
I follow sgy and like some parts of it but one of my criteria is must do well over 1 million share volume per day. If things go for a chit u can get trapped on sgy. Can't do it as a result. good luck but I'm leaving my eggs in the ATH basket. glta

haha, exactly.  Love all the folks who discovered oil stocks last year and quickly became hedging experts over night

And hilarious just a few weeks ago when oil dropped below 70, crickets about hedges.
