At my witts end

Guys man, ever since March regional banking massacre these reits have been scraping the barrel. Rallies exhaust in record time and  bend over in a blink of an eye. While treasury yields and inflation and crude are on a parabolic uptrend.  If I was central banks, I would at least be asking the question, "is what we're doing even working?". Rates take credit for inflation going down, but when it goes back up its a mystery, or need more hikes.  Like Mr Evanstandour, a very respectful investor, cites "cyclical bottom" doesnt mean there's not a lot more downside in the REIT trade before it turns.

We really need a liquidation event.  I never thought it would come down to Samir pulling the impossible. But here we are.

Mr. "Evanstandour"? Respected investor yes, but obviously not respected enough by you, that would be EstevanOutsider. The likely incorrect reference you make of cyclical bottom (and I am not speaking on anyone's behalf here) would have been a reference to the rate cycle nearing or at an end, and yes, that would for all intents and purposes give way to an upward bias to the reit ...more

I sold one third of my Artis position at a significant loss a few months back so I could sleep better at night. Maybe it will prove to be a mistake in the end however having positions larger in size than you are comfortable with is not pleasant when things do not turn out as expected. It might make sense to look at diversifying some of your REIT exposure or at least diversifying which REITs you ...more
