Why I think manji wants his money OUT
for the past 14 years high rates was not even in the headline. In fact it was more so if rates will go lower, recession, more QE. Rates were super comfortable being low with 10 year around 3% or lower.
Great time to be real estate guy and own reits.
Now things have been flipped and no one can predict "for how long" and even possibly higher. Keeping huge capital in an investment for 3 to 5 years hoping to break even is not how savvy investors make money. They react instantly and try to grow their return. Let alone downside risk and maybe never fully recouping.
Not like the feds are going to cue a timeline and the goalposts keep shifting

Remember manji took control of artis with intention of being super aggressive... increasing nav and even dividend giving total spectacular return for him and Sandpiper. Cominar and public securities was supposed to provide outsized returns. He got his lunch handed to him instead. He's not a defensive guy trying to break even..
