Us vs Canada inflation

I've looked at the latest non seasonal adjustment cpi for both Canada and the US and here is what we know so far.

The US is doing much better if we annualize the last 3 months and 6 months of CPI prints.

US:

3 months annualized =~ 1.27%
6 months annualized =~  4%
12 months =~ 2.894%

Canada:

3 months annualized =~3.788%
6 months annualized =~ 4.85%
12 months =~ 2.53%

Canada's inflation rate is trending higher than the US in the last 3 months and 6 months. There has been some large capital injection in the Canadian Repo market which will certainly add to the inflationary pressures in the months ahead. The worst combination is higher inflation and higher unemployment and Canada is heading in that direction.

Master of the F'N obvious you are!

Please explain in detail how my post is obvious?   You couldn't even verify anything I've written as fact.

There you go again, heads a little too big to get through the door. Sometimes you make basic obvious statements (which by the way there is nothing in itself wrong with that) that you think is way above peoples ability to grasp here on this board. News flash, although you have outright said you are smarter than the posters on this board and put down just about everyone on this board, there are ...more

First of all, what the heck are you talking about?  I was reporting on the differences between Canada and the US inflation rate and you disrespected my post as you usually do. I think you are jealous of me.  Btw, can you find the post where I said I was smarter than everyone on this board?

I can confirm that yes, DZ is in fact super duper jeleous. He was just in my DM's saying he wished he could be a broke economist with zero going on in life... he wishes how he had the level of freedom required to stalk folks on a stock board (for a stock he dosnt have a position, long or short), where everything he says is shot down as lacking substance or simply off topic. Let's not even ...more

I well recognize, as most do, what you said. I would find it hard to be jealous of someone like yourself, honestly, for a host of reasons that I needn't get into. I am sure most here would feel same. As for your comments pertaining to you implying you are smarter than the posters on this board, you and I both know you have said and implied numerous times of such. I as well as most others know ...more
