  Mr lube is charging $98 plus tax for a winter tire change.  Last season it was $69 plus tax. What is that in terms of inflation percentage?  That's a 42% inflation rate over 6 months more or less.

Just did the tire change yesterday it was $79+ tax.     Live in Calgary .. but that's still up .....  it was a few years ago as I could've swore it was $59..  Always no doubt anything seems way higher ..   Canada still gonna be in trouble when all of these mortgages in 2025 come good when people were locked in around 2%.   I have two of my own mortgages ...more

That will increase the  inflation rate as more home owners renew their mortgage. The BoC uses mortgage interest when computing the "shelter" inflation component of the CPI or better yet, the CP lie. Contrary to the US which actually calls people up on the phone and asks them "how much do you think you can rent your house at for." It's a very antiquated way of computing ...more

Moreover, the lower $ C will make imports more expensive. Think fruits and vegetables that come from California or anything else that we import.  2025 is shaping out to be a brutal year for Canada. No more immigration to mask the gdp numbers going forward. This is actually good news because it will expose the poor policy decisions made by our government during covid.  Get rid of ...more
