more then 250K capital gain

the first 250,000 capital gain will be tax at 50% only, as usualy. The amount exceeded 250K will be tax at 66,67% (so, mean 16,67 % more then before) and only for your federal income tax .  Lets say that an insider received shares as a salary , its normal that each year some of them sell those shares they received mainly as a salary (bonus). In Qubec, for 350,000$ capital gain, now, your going to paid on 16,670$, more ''federal income tax'', meaning for each 100,000$ exceeding 250K, your going to pay around 3000$ to 4,000$ more in tax, WOW! poor you. (This measure dont work in provincial tax, only in federal, and much of your tax are going to Qc, far less to Can.). So, people who have to declare more then 250K capital gain will freak out! Really? Imagine, you make 350K gain and your going to pay, now, 3000$ to 4000$ more, if you sell on the hurry at 84$, lets counting before you make the move how much you going to lose if the share price goes to 86$ and more...2nd: this is a law from a governement who s going to lose the next election. 3rd: the Conservator will change it as soon they take power...so, 1st, you dont lose to much money (650K gain = 650K-250K = 400K X 16,67% more = 12,000 to 15,000$ to be paid to Trudeau more then before, WOW !     and, if you sell at the present price and  it  reach 86$ and more, your loosing money.... for me, my 0,05$ tought, its a bad move, a very bad move! and this law will be history very soon.... unfortunataly, my capital gain dont alloud me to do those maths, but even at 1,000K gain I will still stay long...lol!

Le gouvernement du Quebec a annonce l'harmonisation de la taxe sur le gain en capital, donc la nouvelle taxe s'applique autant au provincial Quebec qu'au federal Ottawa

well, I hope when the Conservator will cancel this law, Qubec will follow in the same way. So, for a million dollars capital gain make, the poor tax payer will have to pay 8,000$ more for each 100,000$, around 50,000$ more for each million dollars.... you are still be rich enought...dont you?

yah or move your investments to the US and cut your taxes in half or be like Trudeau and move your money to an offshore tax haven of the Cayman Islands.  Trudeau has an estimated net worth of $98 million USD, I won't how much tax he pays or jobs he creates in Canada personally If 10,000 wealthy Canadians move say $10 mil out of the country thats $100 Billion gone in investments.  I ...more

A little off topic, but: I don't know where your current net worth estimates for Trudeaum$98M U.S. comes from, but where does any of the money he has come from anyway? His inheritance was about $1M plus an old ratty Mercedes 300SL he got from his dad (today worth $1M) and the sale of the house on Pine Ave., Since he hasn't been in business ever, has done lots of public speaking (speewing ...more

I see a number of google searches reporting net worth in a range from 7 million to 98 million USD, I'll admit I went with the high number just because.  How much it really is, only Justin will know himself Anyway you slice it, he is considered to be very wealthy, yet he avoids Canadian taxes and parks his money offshore.  Lets not forget the free vacations from "friends ...more
