Recommendations

I am looking to move my RRSP and FTSA to new bank.
Any recommendations? Which is best for DIY stock trades, Research etc.?

Just easy to use and I got a year or two of free trades. Also at that time BMO, unbelievably, was giving me no margin on Bombardier. RBC gives you 70%

I use National Bank mainly for the free unlimited trading.  No one should be paying brokerage fees today.  Ditto for bank fees, no one should pay banking fees either, but that's a different subject

Questrade. Switched from Disnat when they charge 30$ per trade and extra fees for different reason about 20 years ago. I had a sell that would have cost me above 200$ of fees for less than 5000$ of value(penny stock). That's all gone now, but fine prints should be understand to trade with minimal fees. i.e. adding/removing liquidity fees, SP-value<x-value, etc...

I used 5 brokers; TD, Disnat, CIBC, RBC and Nat bank. All have something very positive; some is the transactions, some theirs stocks watch lists, some their analysis, some best for options and some others for their fixed revenus trading (for RRSP). All give an excellent call service. But the best overall is TD, with 4 stars on many items; for analysis avaliable, complete web site, fixed ...more

I began with Levesque & Beaubien 50 years ago, 5 stars service,.....by rotary phone ! Hahaha hahaha!
