WSJ: Trump Pushes for Early Renegotiation of U.S. Trade Deal

Practically speaking, it's very unlikely the U.S. is going to apply tariffs on Bombardier's jet exports to the U.S. The repeated tariff threats are said to be a ploy to start renogiating the USMCA, per the Wall Street Journal's story from today. I expect the shareprice to jump sharply on Feb 3rd.

WSJ: President Trump is using the threat of imposing stiff tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico as soon as next week to pressure the two nations to start renegotiating a continental trade deal, according to people familiar with the matter.

I read that, but its just another critical reason why we need an election NOW.  The Liberals are finished and further Trump knows they are done and taking full advantage of that.  Kevin O'Leary even told Trump directly to stop talking to the Liberals

Well, hell.  If Kevin O'Leary said so, it's a fact. I'd be happy to never see that guy in Canada again.  Maybe take their boating skills somewhere south...

Chris, you may not be happy with Kevin O'Leary but he has the ear of Donald Trump, name me another Canadian that does.  I would be happy to never see Trudeau in Canada again Further I was listening to Kevin O'Leary last night and I liked his message, common currency, freedom to work on both sides of the border, etc all while maintaining our sovereignty https://www.youtube.com ...more
