I don't understand this stock

For the life of me , I just don't understand this stock . Bir have paid off their debt , they are profitable and unhedged going into winter with a market cap of $2.8 billion yet the stock is down . Then you look at a company like Shopify who operates a sales platform (they own nothing) , so far this year they have lost $2.8 Billion , have a market cap of $55 billion and they are up 5% today . Its hard to understand how profits and dividends aren't of value anymore .

Definately frustrating to watch this cycle up and down between $11 and the $10.60's at the low end.  There must be some automated program that has it boxed in between these two levels.  One would think with Freeport LNG coming on line in Dec and the new dividend policy to start in the New Year,  it might break out of this box some time in the New Year.  Here's hoping
