Please excuse my ignorance, but can someone explain how an Offering affects the share price and split corp in general? My impression was that it was just an equity raise and total NAV will rise in porportion to the number of new shares bought... so no change in NAV per share. Is this correct?

You won't lose anything if you hold it 3 months past the offering.  But in those 3 months the premium dries up.  Or gets sucked up by quadravest.

The biggest problem with the offerings, is that the underwriters , usually banks like RBC or NA, do the offering for Quadravest and get shares at a discount to offering. Many times they short the shares right at start of the offering , and then cover later with the shares acquired on the cheap. Market knows this  and most times sells off  for a time, usually only a few weeks, depending ...more
